Couples: Katie and Justin

Katie and Justin are getting married! Yay! Their engagement session was so much crazy fun, and even though it was cold and raining, we laughed so hard. It was the best time.

Thanks, you guys. ♥

500 Sales!

My Etsy Shop, The Light Fantastic, is almost at its 500th sale! Yay! To celebrate, I'm offering a bogo deal for the next FOUR people to make a purchase in my shop. Buy one print or necklace, receive one of equal value for free! And as a little extra bonus, I'm giving out these sweet little handmade Valentine cards, too! Come on over and get a gift for yourself and your Valentine!

New Etsy Shop and an Antler Makeover

I love the natural history/science class feeling my house has now that I have some cool antlers on display. But since I like to do random projects instead of actually doing work, I decided this particular pair could benefit from some yarn. Pretty!

Speaking of antlers, I just opened a new Etsy shop! Antler Collective is my new little side project where I will be selling non-photography related items like insect jewelry, scarves, and any other projects I've been itching to try. It's very new, but if you get a chance, come on over and see the goods. I'll be adding things slowly. Like, really super slowly ♥

New tattoo!

I finally got my new tattoo last weekend, and I think it's pretty adorable. I decided to get a two-headed deer with a lovely vintage frame and a bow. I asked illustrator Nan Lawson to come up with something for me, because she's the authority on quirky cuteness. And she nailed it. Hooray!

Before and After

Left: January 2011  Right: March 2012

This little shack has been on my short list of favorite places since I was a kid.  My mom told me stories about it, and I imagined what kind of people used to live there. Such a charming, lonely little place.  Last year, I took a picture of it for Miss Match, a diptych project I was involved in.

Fast forward one year later. The trees have been cut down, the building is now just a pile of ash. I'm sorry to see it go, but I'm really glad that I took a moment to capture it's personality before it was gone. Goodbye, old friend.
